Emergency Call Boxes are located throughout the campus for your safety.  Located throughout the campus of MTSU are approximately 34 black emergency call boxes which are a direct link to Public Safety.  They can be identified at night by their blue lighting.

Pressing the button located on the front of the box establishes a link to the Public Safety Dispatcher, giving the location of the callbox being activated and causing the blue lights to flash.  Releasing the button allows the user to hear the dispatcher, while pressing the button allows the user to talk to the dispatcher to request assistance or report an emergency

Call Box Operation

1. Push The RED Button and listen for instructions.

2. Speak Clearly & Calmly

3. Provide Dispatcher With The Call Box Number Or Location

4. State Your Emergency

5. Follow The Dispatchers Instructions

6. While On The Line Assistance Will Be Dispatched To Your Location

7. Do Not Leave The Area Unless Your Physical Safety Is In Danger

8. If You Are Being Followed, Chased, Or Threatened, Activate A Call Box And Keep Moving To The Nearest Occupied Building, Activating Other Call Boxes As You Pass

9.All Call Box Activations Are Investigated
