Annual Security Report and Daily Crime Log
(Clery Act)
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) are federal laws that require colleges and universities to publish particular crime statistics along with campus policies, procedures, guidelines and information in an annual report. This report is called the Annual Security Report. An additional requirement is the publishing of a Daily Crime Log which lists criminal incidents as reported to MTSU Public Safety.

Annual Crime Report and Media Log
(College and University Security Act)
The Tennessee "College and University Security Act" of 1989 (Tennessee Code Annotated 49-7-2201 through 49-7-2207) describes the means by which colleges and universities in the State of Tennessee must publish particularly pertinent campus information along with reporting campus crimes to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Each year Middle Tennessee State University Public Safety publishes this information online as the Annual Crime Report. An additional requirement is the publication of a Media Log which describes certain incidents that are reported to MTSU Public Safety.
