Crime Alert -
September 5, 2008
On Sept. 5, 2008, a female MTSU student reported that
she had been sexually assaulted earlier in the night,
possibly around midnight, by a male MTSU student. The
female student reported that the incident occurred in a
resident's room at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house
on the MTSU campus. No severe physical injuries were
sustained by the female student; however, she advised
that the sexual contact was not consensual. The female
student also stated that the offender was known to her
prior to the alleged sexual assault. This incident is
still being investigated by the MTSU Police Department.

Do not walk alone, especially at night.

Stay away from dark, poorly-lighted areas, especially buildings, parking lots, bushes, hedges, and alleys.

Do not walk with your head down. Walk confidently and watch around you at all times.

Never talk to strangers. Never accept rides from a stranger or mere acquaintance. Always inform another person about your destination and expected time of return. This could
save your life.
