Crime Alert - November 4, 2009

Earlier today (November 4, 2009) the Murfreesboro Police Department was summoned to Nottingham Apartments, an apartment complex located off Greenland Drive just north of MTSU's campus, to investigate a dumpster that had been set on fire and apparently also contained a human body in it. Because of the close proximity of this incident to campus, city law enforcement wanted to inform MTSU Police. While this situation has not yet been labeled a criminal incident, the campus community is asked to be aware of this incident. MTSU Police also asks anyone with any knowledge of this situation to contact the Murfreesboro Police at 615-893-1311. Anyone who sees suspicious persons or activity on campus is asked to call the MTSU Police at 615-898-2424.

Crime Alert - September 28, 2008

On Sunday morning, September 28, 2008, at approximately 12:05 A.M. two MTSU students were robbed by three males in the parking lot just south of the Walker Library. The two students, one male and one female, were walking through the parking lot when the suspects approached. One of the three suspects told the victims to give him their belongings. The victims handed over a set of keys with I.D. cards, a silver-colored cell phone, and an Alabama baseball cap.

The first suspect was described as a black male of average build approximately 18 to 20 years of age with dreadlocks pulled back into a pony tail wearing a black t-shirt over a white t-shirt and long black baggy shorts. The other two suspects were described as black males wearing black clothing, one with no shirt on. No other description was immediately known. The suspects left the area on foot. No weapon was used by the suspects.
