Middle Tennessee State University Public Safety

 Security Request

Services Request Form

Middle Tennessee State University Public Safety personnel may be requested for security at events on the MT campus. MT Public Safety will make the final determination if officers are required for security at an event. Should you require more information contact our Special Events Coordinator at (615-898-2424) from 8:00 A.M through 4:00 P.M Monday through Friday.

It is the policy of Middle Tennessee State University that any and all policing or security activities, assignments, or functions will either be performed by, at the direction of or with the approval of the Middle Tennessee State University Public Safety. Departments or organizations are prohibited from contracting outside policing or security services.

How to make a request

MT Public Safety will be the last stop in the event approval process.

1.

Obtain a facility form approved by the facility manager where the function will be  held.

2. Student groups must then take the facility form to the appropriate Student Affairs department (Greek Life Director; Student Organizations Director, Student Programming Director) for approval. Non-student event requests must go through the facility managers/coordinators. MT Public Safety requires a five working day advance notice to fulfill requests.
3.

The appropriate facility manager or Student Affairs coordinator will fax the Public Safety Request form and the signed facility form to Public Safety during business hours for our information and review. These requests for service will then be approved/not approved, and promptly faxed back to the requesting authority.

Costs

Public Safety rate is $25.00 per hour per officer.

Cancellations

Dances and related events must be cancelled before the end of business, generally 4:30 P.M., the day of the event, or end of business on Friday for a weekend event.

Payment

Campus Organizations must provide a current Department or Organizational account number for billing. If an MT account number is not available, you may write a check payable to MTSU Public Safety or pay in cash prior to the event but during regular business hours.
