Corey Reece is an artist from a small town in Virginia. He highly values animated works that motivates and moves the indomitable human spirit forward. Whether it's finding the rhythm of how a character would perform in a scene, or crafting an appealing design to pull in an audience, he's always dancing with the devils in the details.

He achieved a BS from East Tennessee State University in Digital Media. There he learned to be a generalist of all things within media arts. This included 3D animation, motion graphics, photo editing, film editing, and web design. Compelled by his love for animation he pursued an MFA from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. There he studied under industry professionals from Pixar, Dreamworks, Blizzard, and many more.

His professional work consists of motion graphics in local news and character performance for children's TV shows. As a news station graphic artist, he designed packages and brands for various segments and specials. As a freelance animator, he animated characters in compelling performances for Flying Bark's FriendZSpace and Shining Isle Studio's Wingfeather Saga.

After teaching part-time for years he became addicted to the classroom setting. This desire led to a dedicated role here at MTSU. He truly enjoys being surrounded by hungry minds who are passionate about this very artistic and competitive field. He is devoutly dedicated to his students and is always grateful of the time they spend in the classroom together. A learning environment where everyone feels comfortable to grow collectively as artists is crucial to him. This is an ever growing field and Professor Reece aims to help students be flexible as they advance and eventually leave the Media Arts program.
