What Does It Cost?

In-state students taking an online, hybrid, or synchronous online course are charged in-state tuition rates.

For out-of-state students enrolled in exclusively online classes, MTSU offers a special eRate for tuition.

Additional distance education fees are charged for all online, hybrid, or synchronous online courses. The current distance education fee is $10 per credit hour. This fee applies to both undergraduate and graduate courses. The fee is used to provide specific services to students in online courses including online tutoring, Writing Center support and tutoring, online counseling services, online library support and guides, and faculty training and support for creating and teaching high-quality online courses.

MTSU publishes tuition and fee rates for undergraduate and graduate courses each academic year on the Cost of Attendance website. Students interested in exploring financial aid opportunities can find more information on the Financial Aid website.
