Jennings A. Jones College of Business Student Organizations

Membership in a number of professional and honorary business organizations are available to students. The following organizations are open to students majoring in the Jennings A. Jones College of Business.

Alpha Kappa Psi

Alpha Kappa Psi's purpose is to promote leadership, take on projects, and develop additional skills needed for the real world. Activities include meetings, professional speakers, business tours, and networking with business people from around the country.

Eligibility: Business majors and minors with 2.5 cumulative GPA or better

American Marketing Association

The American Marketing Association has over 30,000 members and 300 collegiate chapters nationwide. The AMA prides itself in being the go-to place for marketing resources and networking opportunities. As a collegiate chapter, we will add value to MTSU students by expanding their marketing knowledge beyond the classroom, while helping them bridge the gap between college and career. Activities include monthly meetings, guest speakers, field trips to local businesses, and other chapter events.

Association of Information Systems (AIS) Student Chapter

The Middle Tennessee State University Chapter of The Association of Information Systems serves our members by delivering relevant technology and leadership education, research and information on current business and technology issues, and forums for networking and collaboration. The AIS is premier professional association for individuals and organizations who lead the research, teaching, practice, and study of information systems worldwide

Beta Alpha Psi

Beta Alpha Psi introduces students to the professional side of Accounting. Activities include: meetings with professional speakers, community service projects, site visits to accounting firms and other businesses.

Eligibility: Accounting majors with at least 3.0 GPA cumulatively and at least 3.0 GPA in Accounting.

Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society for business programs accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or master's program at a school accredited by AACSB International.

Eligibility: The academic ranking of business majors being considered must place them in the upper 7 percent of the junior class, upper 10 percent of the senior class, or upper 20 percent of the graduating master's class.

Blue Raider Finance Network

Blue Raider Finance Network strives to connect executives, recent finance alumni, masters (MSF & MBA) students, finance undergraduates, and any students interested in finance so that students and alumni can successfully reach out to the right source to obtain career guidance and access to jobs and internships as needed and executives have dependable resources for new talent.

BlueSec: Cyber Security Club

The MTSU Cyber Security Club provides cybersecurity training and challenges to our members. Activities include speakers, discussions, and we also provide cybersecurity related escape games.

Collegiate DECA

Economics Club

The Economics Club serves all students interested in economics. Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) Kappa Chapter of Tennessee is an international honor society in economics. ODE fosters closer ties between students and economics faculty and promotes the economics profession.

Financial Management Association (FMA)

FMA promotes an appreciation of finance as a profession. Affiliate of the International FMA Association. Activities include: speakers, field trips, and social activities.

Gamma Iota Sigma

Gamma Iota Sigma is a professional fraternity organized to promote, encourage, and sustain interest in insurance as a profession; encourage high moral and scholastic attainments; and facilitate the interaction and cooperation of educational institutions, industry, and professional organizations. Activities include: speakers, contact with the Insurance industry, scholarship opportunities, and internship and career opportunities.

Institute of Internal Auditors

The purpose is to provide undergraduate and graduate students with an educational and social organization that promotes internal auditing as a career objective. The student chapter meets twice a month. Student members are invited to attend monthly meetings of the Nashville Chapter of the IIA free of charge. Activities include speakers, field trips, networking opportunities, and social activities.

Institute of Management Accountants

The Institute of Management Accountants provides members personal and professional development opportunities through education, association with business professionals, and certification in management accounting and financial management skills. The chapter meets twice a month and generally has speakers from the accounting or finance departments of a corporation in Nashville or Murfreesboro.

Investment Club

The Investment Club of MTSU will conduct or sponsor activities for members to learn about investing while also helping its members prepare for an investment-related career.

National Association of Black Accountants (NABA)

The mission of NABA Inc. is to address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders that shape the future of the accounting and finance professions with an unfaltering commitment to inspire the same in their successors.
