Economics Club

The MTSU Economics Club is an organization for students interested in economics (both economics majors and non-majors) that gives them the opportunity to engage with the subject outside of class and to build relationships with other students of economics and faculty members. At regular club meetings, club members eat pizza and discuss various topics related to economics (for example, recent discussions have focused on election forecasting and fantasy football). The club is also involved in bringing to campus external speakers whose presentations are of interest to economics students at MTSU. Recent speakers have discussed issues including economic development in Africa, how economics factors into climate change policy, and incentives in college football recruiting. In addition to that, the Economics Club has a number of purely social events, such as trivia contests, where students and faculty interested in economics can interact in an informal setting.

For those interested in joining the club, please send an email to the club’s faculty advisor, Aaron Gamino, at aaron.gamino@mtsu.edu.
